Colin: Hey everyone is Colin here at etrailer. Today we're going to take a look at the Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack for fat tire bikes. This is a bike rack that mounts to your roof rack, and allows you to get your fat tire bike all the way to destination. It's going to grip your bike by the wheels, so you're not going to have to worry about any frame contact occurring with your fat tire bike. What's unique about it, is that it has two arms that basically sandwich the tire to make sure that it's secure.Now the great thing about the two arm system with this bike rack, is that a lot of other fat tire bike racks just have that one hook that comes up, and then ratchets down on top of your tire. Review of Rhino Rack - Roof Rack - RR43233- Video

Today we're gonna take a look at the 15 millimeter through axle bike carrier for the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform roof tray. Now, this is a fork mount bike carrier to let you transport a bike with a 15 millimeter through axle fork on a Rhino Rack Pioneer platform. This included adapter sleeve here fits a 15 millimeter by 100 millimeter through axle, and the sleeve will fit into the front here, and then you tighten this down, allow you to carry that 15 millimeter 100 through axle. Now they do also offer additional sleeves, which we do sell separately that'll let you carry bikes with different size through axles. The fork carrier right here on the front can be rotated to prevent the handlebars from clashing so you could put one this way and just turn it make one the other way so the handlebar don't hit. The rear wheel cradle right here as a ratcheting strap.You can see, take it out, insert it. more

We can go ahead and dive into the details, but first, I'd just like to point out something that's often overlooked real fast, and that's the Mazda's trunk. There's plenty of clearance in between the rack and the bicycle, so it'll give you no issues there.Now, if you want to take a look at how the bicycle itself is secured to the rack, it's a very simple design. A bonus here is it does come with a lock included so once you have this installed and clamped into place, you can lock it down and secure your bike to the bike rack. The first thing you will notice about this is that it's a wheel-mounted bike rack, so that means that it's going to hold our bike by its front wheel. This is nice because we don't have to take that front wheel off, and it's also going to eliminate the need for any bike frame contact because it's just going to clamp around that wheel. To get that in place, we've got this torque knob here. Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Fork Lock III Roof Mounted Bike Rack, and that's going to be part number INA391. We already have the bike installed on our rack, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of our features.How the bike is held into place starting at the front here, it's going to grip your bike by the fork mounts. What's nice about this bike rack is that once this is in place, and it does come with the lock already at the top, everything is secure from the bike rack to the roof rack, as well as the bike to the bike rack because you can't remove the bike rack without this being open and unlocked, and you can't loosen it without that being loosened and unlocked as well with the latch here. We'll get to that a little bit later.Moving to the rear, we do have this rear wheel strap that does ratchet down into place, and this is adjustable the length of the bike rack to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. Now, you see that at the back here this does stick out pretty far past where our hatch is. However, since this particular model does open from the side here out, clearance is not going to be an issue for this bike rack.So, let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota RAV4- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2012 Toyota Rav4, we're gonna be test fitting the RockyMounts SwitchHitter Rooftop Bike Rack, part number RKY1270. This is a pretty unique rooftop bike rack in that it grips your bike at two points, but you do have choice when it comes to the front mount here. Right now we have a 9mm skewer mount that you see here grips your bike by it's fork mounts, but this will also work with Thru-Axles as well, so that works with either 12 or 15mm . Thru-Axles. There's another adaptor for a 20 that is sold separately.On the rear here, we do have this strap that'll hold the rear tire in place, and this is adjustable the length of the bike rack, to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. For security, we do have an integrated cable-lock although the lock-core is gonna be sold separately, and you can find that on etrailer.com so you can make this keyed alike with other accessories, or another roof rack if you wanted to.With everything installed as it is, you can see this sticks out pretty far back over our actual rear hatch, but since the Toyota Rav4, it's rear door opens out instead of up, that's not gonna be an issue with this particular rack. more

And what sets this apart from other roof style bike racks, while it does grip it by the fork mounts, we have this skewer mount installed right now, this skewer mount can be removed and you can utilize this with through-axles as well, ranging from 12 to 15 to 20 millimeter through-axles. It also grips it along the back rear tire here with this strap and this is adjustable back and forth to accommodate bikes of different sizes.With everything installed as it is, we're also not going to have an issue of clearance, between our rear hatch and the bike rack. more

Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack XTray Pro Cargo Basket and 2 Bike Carrier, part number RRRMCB03.This measures 58" long by 43" wide, so there's plenty of space on the interior of the basket to store a lot of gear, anything from your luggage to your sporting goods equipment to your camping gear, plus there are two thru axle mounts up at the front here to carry up to two bikes. This does have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can take those weights. We already have it partially installed on our roof here. I want to show you the rest of the process. It does come with all hardware necessary to tighten it down.How we start there's going to be this plastic bracket that we've already installed here that goes in between your roof rack system and the cargo basket itself. On top of that, we have this metal bracket that's going to kind of push into place here like so. more

So this is great for bikes such as your carbon fiber bikes, your ultimate frame bikes, or your kids' bikes. They make it difficult when you have the bike racks that you have to take off the front tire for.How it grips the front tire is pretty unique as well. It grips your bike at two points. We'll have a rear wheel strap, which is adjustable to length of the back rack, to accommodate for bikes of different sizes, and we'll have this fork mount up at the front, which will hold it with this skewer.Now notice that there is no frame contact once you attach this to your bike rack, which is good for carbon fiber bikes. Once you have it tightened down with the skewer mount here, it is covered with this plastic cover here, which is lockable.
